About the Role
Our client are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Rural Surveyor to join their Estates and Land Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart or develop our surveying career within a supportive, community-focused environment. You'll assist in managing a diverse rural estate portfolio, including agricultural holdings, tenanted land, public rights of way, and common land, helping to ensure effective land use, sustainability, and compliance with statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the day-to-day management of the businesses rural estate, including agricultural tenancies, grazing licences, and land leases.
* Support the delivery of rural land valuations, rent reviews, and property inspections under supervision.
* Contribute to estate management plans and environmental stewardship initiatives.
* Assist in maintaining accurate records, GIS mapping, and asset databases.
* Liaise with tenants, contractors, stakeholders, and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
* Help ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, such as health and safety and land use legislation.
* Support senior surveyors with project work, including rural diversification, estate rationalisation, and development appraisals.
What We're Looking For
* A degree (or working towards) in Rural Estate Management, Land Management, or a related RICS-accredited subject.
* Ideally some practical experience in a land or property role, such as through a placement or internship (desirable, not essential).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
* A proactive and organised approach, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or ability to travel between sites as required).
