Mobile Fabric Engineer

Location: Field-based, covering sites across Peterborough.

Overview:

We are looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to join a growing team. This full-time role is based in the field and will cover sites across Peterborough. You will be working with a range on education sites providing both planned and reactive maintenance services. The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic, and enjoy variety in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out a variety of building fabric maintenance tasks, including:

  • Patch repairs
  • Minor plumbing and carpentry
  • Painting and decorating
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to client specifications.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and statutory requirements at all times.
  • Perform regular inspections and monitoring of equipment as part of the preventative maintenance programme.
  • Respond to client queries, report defects, and keep clients informed during service visits.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and service visits, using hand held technology.
  • Work independently, but also collaborate with a team when needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 2/3 City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in relevant trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing).
  • Previous experience in a facilities maintenance, building services, or construction environment is ideal.
  • Full driving licence is essential for this mobile role.
  • IT literate for record-keeping and communication purposes.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Due to the nature of the role you will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS.
