Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team, providing reactive maintenance services across a portfolio of social housing properties. You will play a vital role in ensuring electrical systems are safe, functional, and compliant with current regulations. The role involves a mix of scheduled repairs and emergency call-outs, with a 1-in-3 on-call rota.

This is a temp-to-perm position, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role after 12 weeks based on performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reactive maintenance on electrical systems in social housing properties.
  • Diagnose and repair faults efficiently and in line with safety regulations.
  • Carry out emergency call-outs as part of a 1 in 3 rota schedule.
  • Conduct periodic testing, inspection, and certification to meet compliance standards.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants, contractors, and the management team.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety policies at all times.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • 2391/2394/2395 Testing & Inspection qualification is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a social housing or reactive maintenance environment is highly preferred.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence (a van and fuel card will be provided).
  • Ability to participate in an emergency call-out rota (1 in 3).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with tenants.
  • Must pass DBS checks due to working in residential environments.
