Job Description: Joiner

Location: Edinburgh
Job Type: Full-time, perm

Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Joiner to join our team, focusing on property repairs and maintenance projects across the Edinburgh area. This is a full-time position, which also includes participation in out-of-hours (OOH) standby services, offering an opportunity to earn an additional £1,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:


- Carry out a wide range of joinery tasks, including but not limited to, installing doors, windows, floors, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment of existing joinery work within residential and commercial properties.
- Assess and diagnose issues with woodwork, providing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Ensure all work meets the required standards and complies with current building regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Deliver excellent customer service, clearly communicating with clients about the scope of work and timelines.
- Participate in the OOH standby rotation, responding to emergency call-outs as required.

Out of Hours (OOH) Standby Requirements:
- You will be required to participate in OOH standby, which averages an additional £1,000 per annum.
- Overtime (OT) pay during OOH standby includes:
- 1.5x Rate: Monday to Friday from 16:30 to 22:00, and Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00.
- 2x Rate: Monday to Friday from 22:00 to 08:00, Saturday from 12:00 onward, and all day Sunday.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant qualification in joinery/carpentry (e.g., SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery).
- Proven experience as a joiner, particularly in property maintenance or repairs.
- Excellent craftsmanship with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to joinery work.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license.
