Job Title: Multi-Skilled Carpenter
Location: Northamptonshire Area

Overview:
Our client, a trusted provider in the social housing sector, is seeking a qualified and experienced Multi-Skilled Carpenter to join their team in the Northamptonshire area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance in void properties. This role requires a diverse skill set, including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, and decorating, with a focus on the social housing sector. The role includes a company van, but candidates must provide their own tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carpentry: Perform a range of carpentry tasks in void properties, including door fitting, skirting, architraves, timber repairs, and general joinery work.
  • Plumbing: Undertake basic plumbing duties such as replacing taps, repairing leaks, installing sinks, toilets, and general plumbing fixtures.
  • Tiling: Install tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas, ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
  • Patch Plastering: Carry out patch plastering tasks, repairing holes and damaged walls, and preparing surfaces for decoration.
  • Decorating: Complete painting and decorating tasks to a professional level, ensuring the property is finished to a high standard and ready for re-occupation.
  • Ensure all work complies with current health and safety regulations.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver projects to the required quality standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, liaising with tenants and colleagues as necessary.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and record all works carried out in a timely manner.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Carpenter, with a strong background in social housing, particularly with void properties.
  • Skilled in carpentry, plumbing, tiling, patch plastering, and decorating.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Full UK driving license (max 6 points).

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Carpentry, such as City & Guilds or NVQ (Level 2 or 3).
  • Plumbing qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Experience or qualifications in tiling, patch plastering, and decorating.
  • Ideally, an up-to-date qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., CSCS card).

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working within the social housing sector, specifically void properties.
  • Own tools for the role (must be able to provide personal tools for the job).
  • A positive, proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience working within tight deadlines.
