Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative (Police Sites)

Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to work across police station sites in Brighton, Haywards Heath, and Lewes. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate. The role involves maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard while ensuring security and confidentiality due to the nature of the sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, and pruning
- Weed control, planting, and general horticultural duties
- Litter picking, leaf clearance, and pathway maintenance
- Basic landscaping and grounds repair work
- Safe use and upkeep of grounds maintenance tools and machinery
- Adhering to strict security and health & safety procedures on police sites
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (Essential)
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role (Preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to pass a police vetting check (Essential)
- Good attention to detail and a professional attitude due to the sensitive nature of the work environment
