Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Huntley Street I, London, WC1E 6DJ
Pay Rate: £30.43 per hour (umbrella rate)

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services within a hospital environment. As part of this role, you will work under the direction of the PPM planner (CAFM), helpdesk, or Technical Services Manager, ensuring that all operational standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver maintenance services as per the planned maintenance schedule (PPM), responding to reactive tasks and providing remedial support when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, following hospital-specific protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring continuous, optimal performance in a hospital environment.
  • Work efficiently to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance environment, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills, with a sound knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with hospital staff and contractors.
